Lara Jean is murderous in this fake To All the Boys I’ve Killed Before horror trailer

Adorable rom-com, but make it horror. At the heels of turning the trailer for The Kissing Booth into a horror film, Netflix has graced us with yet another Halloween treat: a take on the breakout hit To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. To commemorate the spooky holiday, Netflix unveiled To All the Boys I’ve Killed Before, which follows a murderous (but still adorbs) Lara Jean Covey.

“My letters are my most secret possessions,” narrates Lara Jean against the backdrop of suspenseful music. Let’s be honest. We would all totally watch this. Is death by love letters a thing?

Based on Jenny Han’s young adult novel of the same name, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before debuted on Netflix in August. To All the Boys follows hopeless romantic Lara Jean Covey (Lana Condor), who must deal with the repercussions when when her old love letters addressed to her crushes are mailed out. The film, which followed the release of Crazy Rich Asians, helped promote positive dialogue about Asian representation in the media.

And, for Halloween this year, Lara Jean Coveys were out in full force. Author Jenny Han took to Twitter on October 27th to showcase the looks with a sweet caption about representation. Quoting Lara Jean herself, she wrote: “’There are very limited options for Asian girls on Halloween. Like one year I went as Velma from Scooby-Doo, but people just asked me if I was a manga character.’ Not this Halloween, Lara Jean” false

Horror and representation? A combo sweeter than candy.
