All the yes: TLC is releasing a new album

If you’re a TLC fan who, after all these years, still gets “Waterfalls” stuck in your head every so often, you will soon be able to replace it with completely new TLC tunes. The girl group is coming out with their first album in 14 years!

As NME reports, the new album is the result of a Kickstarter campaign launched last year by remaining members T-Boz and Chilli. The initial goal of the campaign was $150,000, but ended up raising more than $430,000. On the Kickstarter page, the group stated that this would be their final album and it would stay “true to the TLC sound.” While this would be T-Boz and Chili’s first studio album by just the two of them, they said that the spirit of third member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, who passed away in a car crash in 2002, would “always be present in our music.”

In a Facebook post on the band’s TLC Army Page, manager Bill Diggins announced the 15-track album would be released later this year.

During a speech at the Crescent Moon GALA for sickle cell awareness, T-Boz confirmed the album’s completion and that a world tour was also planned.

We cannot WAIT for the release of the album! Until then, we’ll be doing some carpool karaoke and singing “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg” at the top of our lungs.
