Like the rest of the world, we were completely shocked (and, honestly, a little bit devastated) to hear of the sudden split of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Despite tabloids consistently speculating about an imminent split for years, the pair with everybody’s fave portmanteau “Brangelina” remained together for 12 years, married for two – until TMZ dropped the news of Angie filing for divorce earlier today. We hoped against hope that it was somehow a ruse or just plain untrue, but Pitt released a very sad (but incredibly mature) statement of his own just a few hours later.
We’ll probably never know the exact reasons for the split – and, really, it’s not actually any of our business. But despite the fact that it didn’t last forever, there’s no denying that Brangelina had a love story for the ages. So, to cope during this trying post-Brangelina time, we’re taking a look back at all of the most romantic moments between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
When they were on-location in Italy filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith, their first movie together, and Angie was absolutely ~glowing~ with happiness.
At L.A. premiere of Mr. & Mrs. Smith back in 2005, when they were no longer even trying to hide their loving looks.
Whenever they were hanging out with their beautiful brood of kids.
Seriously, these kids are adorbs.
At the Inglorious Basterds red carpet, when Angie just looked super ridiculously happy for Brad and proud of him.
At the Cannes Film Festival, when Angie was super pregnant and glowing and Brad kept his arm protectively around her the whole time.
At the 64th Golden Globes, when they shared this totally-in-love look (or, really, any number of awards shows where the two were total stunners and looked at one another like this).
When they got a little bit handsy at the God Grew Tired Of Us Los Angeles Premiere.
When they looked at each other like they were the only two people in a crowded room at this event.
When they took this casual and yet still very attractive motorcycle ride through Ho Chi Minh City.
When they gave thanks to Namibia and its government for their hospitality shortly after Jolie gave birth to the couple’s daughter, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, while visiting the country, and they looked SO HAPPY.
And, of course, their gorgeous family-oriented wedding.
Excuse me now while I go curl up in a ball and mourn the end of Brangelina.
