Titus Andromedon auditioned for “Hamilton” and it went exactly how you’d expect
While everyone and their mother wants to see Hamilton (now the Tony Award winner for Best Musical), we bet even more people have dreamed about one day performing in the show. It should come as absolutely no surprise that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘s Titus Andromedon is among them, so he submitted a hilarious audition tape that aired during Sunday night’s Tony Awards, and Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive clip.
“I’m Titus Andromedon and this is me auditioning for the role of rapping Alexander Hamilton,” he says at the start of the tape. “Now, I’ve not actually been able to get tickets to Hamilton and no audition materials were made available to me — shady!—but I think I get it.”
He then kicks off a hilarious performance of something that, while nowhere near the hit Broadway show, should definitely be a musical of its own.
Maybe season three of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt could feature some kind of crossover — or maybe, just maybe, we’re looking at Lin-Manuel Miranda’s replacement for when he leaves the show this July. Either way, the more Titus, the better. His love for Broadway is paralleled only by our love for him, and for the enthusiasm he brings to everything he does.
