Um, Tinder the movie is happening and we can’t actually deal
Before Pokémon Go took over the world, your smartphone, and your life, there was another app that people, including us, were totally obsessed with: Tinder.
After it launched back in 2012, Tinder has become a mainstay on the dating scene, with an estimated 50 million users swiping right or left over 1.4 billion times each day. That’s a lot of love.
Of course, Tinder has it’s ups and downs, too. Like any online dating platform, you never quite know who you’re going to meet and what they’re really going to be like. Similarly, Tinder isn’t always a place where romance blossoms, with people often “sliding into your DMs” and sending unsolicited nude photos and inappropriate topics for conversation. Not cool.
Tinder has even spread so far that relatable queen, Hilary Duff, made a whole music video about going on Tinder dates.
Now things have reached a fever pitch, however, as it’s just been revealed that there’s going to be a Tinder movie!
Yep, following in the footsteps of the Angry Birds film, Warner Bros have decided to make a full length feature adaptation of the app, tentatively titled Worst Tinder Date Ever.
According to Variety, the film is being developed by Keith Merryman and David A. Newman, the guys behind the wickedly funny Friends with Benefits, which stars Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis.
The plot of the film follows two people in Los Angeles who meet video the app. The pair then go on a date filled with accidents and disaster.
Is it just us, or does this sound hilarious!?
For the meantime, no cast or release date has been announced, but we’re pretty sure this romantic comedy is going to rule.
