Tinashe’s newest music video is literally on fire
R&B singer Tinashe is no stranger to excellent music video visuals. Her video for one-off single “Superlove” is a cheeky delight, and she put together a trippy mini-movie for album Nightride. And for her next act, she’s channeling some serious vengeful ex vibes.
We are HERE for the red-hot video for new single “Flame.”
Joyride, Tinashe’s true sophomore album, doesn’t have a release date yet. But that didn’t stop her from dropping a burner of a single. “Flame” hits that sweet spot of “Why don’t you love me anymore?” feelings, but the video doesn’t have that softness.
Instead, Tinashe channels another excellent song of yore: Lil’ Kim’s “Not Tonight,” specifically the Ladies Night remix. More to the point, I think of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes’s forever iconic burn (pun absolutely intended):
I be the one to blame as the flames keep risin / To the top and it don't stop

Does that give you a sense of what the “Flame” video is about? Look, we obviously don’t condone folks burning down their exes’ homes. But many of us know exaaactly what that feeling is like. (Human nature is a petty beast.) So, let Tinashe act it out in fiercely fiery style:
