Tina Fey Plays F—ck, Marry, Kill with Mindy Kaling and it’s the best, obviously

On Wednesday, two of our favorite funny ladies Tina Fey and Mindy Kaling hung out at the 92nd Street Y in New York. The duo chatted about Kaling’s sophomore book Why Not Me? — a collection of essays and personal anecdotes that we can only hope is as good as her first book, 2011’s memoir Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns).

Of course, the convo between Fey and Kaling brought the serious hilarity. Aside from book talk, the topics of discussion included Donald Trump, and some related “Would You Rather?” sparring.

But Fey brought the clincher when she challenged Kaling to the impossible game of “F—ck, Marry, Kill.” Kaling’s options? Michael Fassbender, Stephen Colbert, and Kaling’s longtime colleague/sometimes on-screen boyfriend/BFF B.J. Novak. Aside from knowing she’d never kill Novak, this grouping was a doozy. After some thought, Kaling declared she’d marry Colbert (good choice, sister), have sex with Novak (though according to Kaling, she’s already done that – oh snap!), and kill Fassy. Granted, she does the hypothetical killing begrudgingly, but still.

We also couldn’t help but think of that early scene on The Mindy Project when Mindy is in a cab heading to a date and prays, “May he have the wealth of Mayor Bloomberg, the personality of Jon Stewart, the face of Michael Fassbender . . . the penis of Michael Fassbender.”

Given her amazing sense of humor, new book, and the fact that season 4 of The Mindy Project just premiered on Hulu this week (SQUEE!), it’s safe to say Kaling is killing it and we’re just so thankful every time there’s an interview with her and she shares a little more of her genius with the world. Also, she and Fey might just be our new dream BFF team – as long as their girls’ nights include Amy Poehler, obviously.
