Everything we know about Tina Fey’s new NBC pilot

Your eyes do not deceive you. The words Tina Fey + NBC + new show really have combined together once again, and we should probably celebrate. Break out the slankets and the night cheese, everyone. It is time to PARTY.

While we don’t know a whole lot about the new show just yet, we do know a few important things. Like, it’ll be another female-driven comedy, just like 30 Rock and just like Fey’s other latest beauty, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It’s also going to be a semi-autobiographical series inspired by the life of 30 Rock writer, Tracy Wigfield, who also just happens to write for The Mindy Project right now (Wigfield also plays Lauren, who moved to Texas with Adam Pally’s Peter last season).

The series doesn’t have a name, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, it’ll be about “a mother-daughter relationship that is challenged when an overly involved New Jersey mom gets an internship at her daughter’s workplace, a cable news network.” Wigfield wrote the pilot, which will undoubtedly be amazing and hilarious. We know this because she’s already got a comedy writing Emmy under her belt: She snagged one, with Fey, for writing the 30 Rock series finale.

Plus, a mother-daughter workplace comedy? We’re into this idea A LOT, especially since Wigfield and her mother are the cutest and we’d watch anything semi-based on their lives. Need proof? Here’s an adorable picture of Wigfield, and her mom Kathy, and their other bestie, Kaling. They’re hanging out, of course, as besties do.

According to THR, everything is good to go for this new series, and production on the pilot episode has been ordered. But, it’s hard not to think back to the last time NBC ordered a Fey show (Kimmy) and then how it suddenly didn’t want the new show (Kimmy) so it sent it to Netflix (our bae). But everything seems to have worked out for the best there, right? Nothing can actually go wrong with Fey is involved. It’s a cold, hard fact.

On a sale of one to high-fiving a million angels, how excited are you?
