Tina Fey thinks Liz Lemon and Leslie Knope should have a spinoff series, and Christmas just came early

One of our favorite television phenomenons is the crossover episode. Who could forget the New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine swap on Fox? The Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder episode on ABC? Or literally any combination of shows on The CW? However, there was a huge missed opportunity to do a crossover episode with Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock, two shows that simultaneously aired on NBC for many years and starred women who were IRL best friends. Thankfully, Tina Fey has an interesting fix for that: a Leslie Knope and Liz Lemon spinoff series.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the 2018 Tony Awards on June 10th, 2018 — Fey revealed that she has zero plans to reboot the iconic 30 Rock, but wondered if she and Amy Poehler should team up instead?

"Amy's willing to do a Parks and Recreation reboot," she told ET. "Maybe we should just do a Liz Lemon, Leslie Knope spinoff."

It’s true that Fey has continually shut down 30 Rock reboot talk, though Jane Krakowski told The Hollywood Reporter online in April 2018 that “there’s definitely been talk and conversations” about reviving the show. So until we know what’s what with 30 Rock, let’s focus on the facts, like this Liz Lemon and Leslie Knope buddy comedy series.

Fey didn’t give any other details about the potential series, so Fey, we have some ideas for you.

One: Leslie Knope becomes the President of the United States and is asked to appear in an episode of Liz Lemon’s newly rebooted TGS With Tracy Jordan. The entire season takes place over one weekend during a New York City snowstorm. (Okay, we’d really watch this.)

Two: The show takes place during one year in the ’90s when Liz Lemon is on a traveling improv troupe that stops in Pawnee, Indiana, which is where she meets enthusiastic fan Leslie Knope, who attends every performance. Waffle bonding commences.

Three: Liz Lemon gives up on showbiz and moves her family to Indiana where she runs into Leslie Knope at a cheese shop. What started as a meet-cute near the burrata turns into a lifelong friendship. (Awww.)

Please give us this show. We deserve some nice things.
