Tina Fey once correctly joked about the theme of “American Horror Story” Season 7
Tina Fey can do it all! She can write, she can act, she can make us peer deep into our souls and question our truths, and now it looks like she can also predict the future. Did Tina Fey once joke about the election theme for American Horror Story Season 7? She sure did!
In case you somehow missed the collective “oh nooooooooo AHS oh nooooo,” heard ’round the world yesterday, American Horror Story mastermind Ryan Murphy has revealed the theme of AHS Season 7: Presidential Election.
Not a joke. AHS Season 7 will be themed to the 2016 Presidential Election, because this is real life.
Anyhoo. While for the last few months it’s been a pretty good joke to be like, “Lol, we’re living an American horror story right now!” Murphy took that to heart and is making it a reality. Last year, Queen Tina joked about this happening, and all of this is just TOO REAL right now.
Talking at the 2016 Tribeca Film Fest, she discussed the fact that she missed being at Saturday Night Live during election cycles (since, as we’ve recently seen, elections make for some great jokes). Tina then continued explaining:
“I feel like looking back on 2008 now, it looks like an episode of The Andy Griffith Show, Tina explained. “And now it’s like, ‘Ryan Murphy brings you Horror Election!’ It’s like, Donald Trump is covering a Bowie song? What is happening?!
Exactly, Tina. What. is. happening.
Tina is actually a pretty big Murphy fan (she absolutely LOVED The People vs. O.J. Simpson) so we can assume she’ll tune in for AHS Season 7. Unless she, like the rest of is, isn’t exactly sure we want to relive it just yet — even if Evan Peters is involved.
