Time to celebrate: We have our official lineup for the “Gilmore Girls” reboot
It’s. All. Happening.
Netflix has officially officially confirmed that they’re bringing back Gilmore Girls for a new season. The project is tentatively called Gilmore Girls: Seasons and will be made up of four 90-minute installments—one for spring, summer, fall and winter. It doesn’t pick up right where it left off, but rather happens in real-time, eight years after the last season aired.
Netflix posted a clever GG-themed tweet announcing the series.
And today, we got our first taste of who is actually involved in the production. TV Line reports that Amy Sherman-Palladino, the mastermind creator behind Gilmore Girls, will write and direct the entire Season project with executive producer Daniel Palladino. So rest assured, the reboot is in very capable hands.
We also know that Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson and Kelly Bishop will be back as Lorelai, Rory, Luke and Emily. But we’re greedy people, and we want more. We can’t help it—this is the reunion we’ve been waiting for! So we were thrilled to find out that Keiko Agena and Sean Gunn will also be back as Lane and Kirk. So far, no Melissa McCarthy *sad face*. Who else will join the cast? Only time will tell. To celebrate, Lauren Graham posted this amazing pic on Twitter.
Filming begins on February 2nd in Los Angeles. We can’t wait!
