Tiffany Haddish is all of us in this imaginary date with Brad Pitt on The Tonight Show
If there’s one thing we know, it’s that Tiffany Haddish is a national treasure. After her hilarious breakout performance in last summer’s Girls Trip, she quickly had us asking, ‘Where has she been all our lives?’ While most celebs play it cool (and sometimes boring!), Haddish has openly expressed her love for Meryl Streep on the Oscars red carpet and has even joked about dating Brad Pitt. And during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday, April 6th, she got her date. Well, kinda sorta.
If you’re not familiar, on Oscars night Haddish told the story of an encounter she had with Pitt that same evening. Apparently, the two met on an elevator, where Pitt playfully suggested they make a hookup pact. Here’s exactly what Haddish told Kelly Ripa during a game of “Marry, Date, Ditch”:
"Oh, I just met him in the elevator! He said in one year, if he's single and I'm single, we gonna do it, so you know what that means. ... He do got seven kids. I don't know if I could deal with a man that's got that many kids. ... I don't know, he told me to wait a year."
And because Fallon is a good sport about everything, he wanted to make Haddish’s dream come true a bit sooner than that. The two role-played what a first date between Haddish and Pitt might be like — and what followed was pure hilarity.
After Tiffany Haddish recounted her Oscars moment with Pitt, Fallon said, “If you did happen to go on a date, maybe we could just see how it goes.”
Seconds later, the host whipped out a paper mask of Pitt’s face and the two “drove” to a fancy restaurant. But not long after getting in the imaginary car, Haddish asked, “So, how’s Angie doing?” Probably not the best idea to ask your date about his ex-wife. And Pitt, erm, Fallon, quickly ended the date then and there.
