We are loving this pre-photoshop raw throwback portrait of Chloë Sevigny
Chloë Sevigny has been a Hollywood goddess for a long time. Her roles have been diverse, complicated, and totally fascinating.
The only thing any of her characters usually have in common is that they’re so subtle and nuanced, you can’t seem to take your eyes away from them (which happens to be true for the actress herself).
So it’s only fitting that she is once again total perfection in a throwback Insta post she just recently shared. Back in 1998, she shot a natural, beautiful, black and white portrait for British Vogue. She first posted the “Girl Power” themed cover to her page.
Long before there was a #GirlPower hashtag, Chloë was already bravely speaking out about gender roles.
But it’s her second post that really melted our hearts.
She writes, “When #davidbailey asked to take a portrait before I went thru the #works aka hair and makeup, he asked what my #betterside was I told him I was #crooked and showed him my spine, #dontmesswithagirlshead”
The raw picture actually looks just like the Vogue cover itself (pre-Photoshop times), which makes a strong case for going back to the days of natural, non-digitally-enchanced covers.
Basically, she just brought us some typical Chloë-style inspiration and we are loving every bit of it.
