3 Reasons Why You Should Check Out ‘Fast and Furious 6’!

I’m going to be honest with everyone: I haven’t caught up with the Fast and Furious franchise. I know I’m missing out on a huge part of pop culture and cars and I need to catch up!  Now the sixth film in this huge franchise comes out on Friday and I think y’all should join me in watching it! I have some pretty valid reasons for watching it, so hear me out.

1. You don’t have to know/like cars to get into the films.

I’ve learned the basics of cars, like I need to change the oil when the sticker on the top corner of the windshield says so and to put gas in before the light turns on. Other than that, I’m going to need some roadside assistance. This film franchise makes me want to start driving and not look back. The characters could be talking about literally anything involving cars and it’ll go over my head, but throw in a good heist or escape and I’ll be paying attention. Sure, I’ll probably be averting my eyes because having lives in danger scares me and I don’t want to see any deaths, but I’ll be into it!

Also, the set up for this film is that since Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian’s (Paul Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete. I also love major cities around the world, especially London, so you’re going to love this!

2. The ladies in this film kick so much ass!

Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster are still the leading ladies in this film, but the supporting cast blew my mind with how awesome they are! Gina Carano ,who is a former mixed martial artist, plays Riley. Also, with a character named Riley, you know she’s going to be a tough female character! Gal Gadot, who appeared in the previous Fast and Furious film, reprises her role as Gisele Yashar. Then there’s Elsa Pataky, who plays Elena Neves. Gina and Elsa are new to the franchise, but they aren’t afraid to fearlessly jump in! I’ve seen a few teaser videos showing Gina and Michelle fighting and it. Looks. So. Cool. It’s no ordinary “girl fight.” This is a complicated and intense fight sequence to rival men’s fighting sequences. You’re rooting for both women because they’re kicking butt and don’t even break a sweat!

I was able to take part in a Google+ Hangout with these ladies a few weeks ago and it was so much fun! Check out the video above and see what I got to ask these wonderful women. They discuss their roles, how difficult it was to prep for those action scenes I talked about, and you know I had to ask about nails!

3. If all else fails, there’s Paul Walker.

Again, I’m keeping it real by saying I’ve seen the original film way back in the day and mixed bits of the others. But one thing still holds true after all these years- Paul Walker is still fine. Those eyes, that face, and don’t get me started on that body. I remember having pictures of him on my binder way back in 2001. If you don’t want to admit it to yourself that you find Paul Walker highly attractive, there are other males in the cast that may be your type.
