This woman’s husband accidentally used her menstrual cup to measure rice

Well, uh — that’s one way to use it. While menstrual cups might not be as recognizable as pads or tampons, a husband accidentally used a menstrual cup to measure rice. Even worse, he might have continued using it had his wife not noticed it hanging around the rice container.

Of course, you may ask why the menstrual cup was in the kitchen in the first place — and there’s an answer for that. In an interview with Scary Mommy, Cindy Hobbs — a jewelry maker — said that her toddler found it and had brought it into the kitchen. Since Hobbs is a mom of three, she didn’t have too much time to put it back where it needed to be.

Needless to say, she probably didn’t assume that her husband would take it for a measuring cup — even though Hobbs admitted to Scary Mommy that he’s not all that great with kitchenware. “My husband is BAD in the kitchen and I should have never trusted him,” she said. “He can’t cook at all, he burns toast, makes lumpy gravy, butchers fried eggs…he’s hopeless. But he’s constantly making me laugh and I wouldn’t have him any other way.” Poor guy just can’t seem to catch a break!

While the story is humorous, it’s the text message that Hobbs shared on Facebook that people can’t get enough of.

The good news is that the cup was clean.  So, it could have been worse.

This just proves that menstrual cups have a lot of different purposes. And perhaps the fact that Hobbs’ story went viral will just bring more awareness towards menstrual cups as an option for managing your period. Or, managing dinner.
