This seven-year-old got a “job” at McDonald’s for the most heartwarming reason ever
Grab your tissues because this one’s going to be a tear-jerker! Apparently, there’s a 7-year-old who got a job at McDonald’s for the most amazing reason. Little Trenton Gardner decided there are too many kids who won’t have much of a Christmas due to lack of money or life circumstances, so he wanted to do something about it.
And unlike a lot of kids who won’t get their first job until much later in life, Garner begged, pleaded, and bargained his way into an honorary employee position at his local McDonald’s.
He did it all to earn money so he could buy toys for kids who otherwise wouldn’t have them.

In a video interview with WTHI-TV news, Gardner is seen working super hard at cleaning off tables at $1 each for McDonald’s customers, earning every bit of the tips he’s given.
Trenton’s mom, Lindsey, says when he was first told he wasn’t old enough to work at his local McDonald’s, he burst into tears. But General Manager, Rhonda Butler, came up with the solution in the form of an apron, name tag, and hat, letting the little tyke do what his heart called him to do — help others. We’re not crying. YOU are!
“Just to see someone so young have that kind of ethic, and just want to help and be a part of something, and he’s like ‘McDonald’s is the best place ever!’, Butler said in the video. “So it’s good to know that hey, this could be one of my future employees."
Now that he’s the regular table-wiping helper for the establishment, McDonald’s even donated toys in his honor to local charities. He set a domino-effect in motion and it’s glorious!
“When Toys For Tots bins started coming out, he wanted to know what it was, Mrs. Gardener said in the interview, “Me and his dad explained to him that not every kid is fortunate enough to get toys like he did for Christmas, and that made him very upset and very sad.
A stark reality for a lot of children during the holidays, it’s nice to know there are some out there willing to go the extra mile to help those in need — especially when they’re still in elementary school!
