This mall will let you have your own “A Christmas Story” experience
If you’re not familiar with A Christmas Story, you probably don’t have access to TBS. The film has, without a doubt, become one of most iconic films of the Christmas season — so much that a New Jersey mall is offering customers a Christmas Story experience for themselves. Not only will Cherry Hill Mall let guests explore the Parker family kitchen, but they’ll be able to slide down Santa’s Mountain. Probably after failing to tell Santa they want a Red Ryder BB gun. (And not a football.)
The movie, which was based around Jean Shepherd’s 1966 book, In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash, was released in 1983. While it wasn’t a box office smash, it gained notoriety over time and even inspired two sequels — My Summer Story and Ollie Hopnoodle’s Haven of Bliss, the latter which was made for television. These days, the house from A Christmas Story — located in Cleveland — is available for tours and open year-round, although as expected, it gets a ton of traffic around the holiday season. So much, that they offer extended hours for Christmas.
But for those who aren’t in Cleveland, this mall experience may be the next best thing.

As long as you make sure that you don’t get pushed down the slide by Santa, you should be okay.
The display, which Philly Voice reports was created by company Parker 3D, is expected to stay up until December 24th. It’s free to the public, so you might want to stop by if you’re in the area.
