This kid freaking out over a rare animal presentation at his school is all of us
Jalen Brooks, a 17-year-old high school senior, is now the most perfect and sincere internet meme after a herpetologist showed up to his high school zoology class in Illinois and, well, basically brought the whole zoo with him. Brooks could not handle it and watching this kid freak out over rare animals is quite possibly the best thing on the internet right now.
Brooks’ classmate Jill Lojas captured his reactions as escalatingly cool animals were brought out — from a huge rooster to scaly reptiles to a python, which basically blew Brooks’ mind. And the video exploded from there onto the web.
“It began when he pulled out the biggest duck species there is! I was super intrigued,” Brooks told BuzzFeed News. “After that he pulled out a series of crazy reptiles that were honestly dinosaurs in my opinion. Then he pulled out the largest python I’ve ever seen and I lost it.”
The video has now been retweeted more than 130,000 times, which is proof of how much everyone wants a little innocence and genuine awe in the world right now. It has also made Brooks an internet meme. Even Steph Curry retweeted it.
