“This Is Us” found an even younger trio of Big Three actors, and we can’t handle the cuteness

Changes are afoot in the This is Us universe both on-screen and off. Season 3 hinted at a lot of heartbreak in the future timeline and saw most of the Pearson clan make big moves in the present. Kate and Toby have a baby. Beth and Randall are heading to Philadelphia so he can continue his run for City Council. Kevin is single again and is moving back in L.A., and Rebecca and Miguel are also heading out west.

But while we didn’t think the series’ stuffed timelines could get any more crowded, it seems Season 4 will feature another era of flashbacks—and we have a brand-new Big Three to prove it. On July 24th, series creator Dan Fogelman took to Twitter to share a photo of the youngest iterations of Kevin, Kate, and Randall Pearson yet. (Not counting when they’re newborns, of course.) His caption sums up what we’re all thinking: “I am dead.” He didn’t confirm whether or not the kids were actually cast in the show, but we have a feeling we’ll be seeing them on our screens soon.

We’ve spent a lot of time with Randall (Sterling K. Brown), Kevin (Justin Hartley), and Kate (Chrissy Metz) as adults. The series also jumps back in time to when the characters were teens and elementary school-aged kids. Now, it seems we’ll be rolling things back even further as they prepare for their first days of preschool.

As always, the details surrounding Season 4 are being kept tightly under wraps. But back in April, Fogelman ominously revealed that the upcoming season serves as a “hinge” and “midway point” for the rest of the series. Luckily, we’ll be able to experience the story of the Pearson clan in its entirety. NBC renewed the series for three more seasons in May, ensuring This Is Us will run through (at least) Season 6—which Fogelman has long-hinted would be the last season.

This Is Us Season 4 premieres on September 24th.
