If you watch “This Is Us” we have the *best* news for you

Go ahead and order a hefty subscription of tissues, because we’re going to be crying well into 2019. In a crazy, and crazy-AMAZING move, NBC has just renewed This Is Us for two seasons.

This should come as no surprise to us. This Is Us is CLEARLY the breakout hit of the season, that has us laughing and crying hysterically every single episode. It’s packed with so many emotional twists! It landed NBC its first Golden Globe for Best Drama in 10 years (the last time that happened, it was for Friday Night Lights), and snagged nominations for leading ladies Mandy Moore and Chrissy Metz. Also, let’s not forget the highly celebrated Sterling K. Brown who has an armful of awards himself (for the People vs. O.J. Simpson).

And Milo Ventimiglia’s butt.

“We all got our wish that this is a hit show, Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment, explained at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. “This Is Us is as good as anything we’ve ever had, we’re thrilled to renew it for two seasons and there’s no doubt it will have a long life on NBC. On behalf of everyone at NBC, we’re grateful for the artistry of the cast, crew, and producers assembled by our gifted creator, Dan Fogelman. In a world where there are literally hundreds of television dramas, we’re proud to have one of the very best that is also one of the highest-rated.

Now let’s talk about these two future seasons: According to NBC’s announcement, Season 2 and Season 3 will both consist of 18 episodes each, airing in the 2017-2018, and 2018-2019 seasons, respectively. We’ve still got SO MANY MORE years of This Is Us ahead of us, and just think about the stories that can be dreamed up now. The writers now have the ability to completely map out Pearson Family Adventures years in the making, and omg, crying just thinking about it.

There are still six more episodes of This Is Us left this season, and here’s to so many more happy-tears in the future.
