This Insta vid of Kate Hudson belting out a ballad is exactly what we needed today
We knew she was a great actress and an amazing mom, but we never knew that Kate Hudson is also a fantastic singer. We got a very brief hint of it last September on The Tonight Show, when Hudson busted out a few lyrics of “Hold On” by En Vogue, but thanks to Instagram, she showcased her skills in a more natural atmosphere. At a birthday party, with a big glass of wine.
Hudson recently made the news for her bold and beautiful buzz cut, which she got for a role in Sia’s upcoming movie. Hudson will be working with Dance Moms star (and Sia’s muse) Maddie Ziegler, which sounds like absolute perfection.
We’re not sure if the role will include singing, but after hearing this? It totally should.
Hudson, a fan of music, chose the song “Jealous” by Labrinth — a ballad that the artist released in 2014. The song is a bit of a tear-jerker, since it’s written about one of Labrinth’s parents who decided not to be part of his life at an early age.

While the song is incredibly beautiful (and a little sad) it was still a great choice for Hudson. Surely her friends were loving every second of it.
We had a feeling that Hudson was down to earth, and these Instagram gems just prove it.
Besides Hudson and Ziegler being cast, we’re still learning about Sia’s big project bit by bit. Currently called Sister, it’s being written and directed by Sia and has been discussed openly since 2015. We absolutely can’t wait to see it.
