This horse found the best way to soothe a crying baby

Hey parents — if you’re trying to find a new way to calm your infant, consider buying a horse. Sure, it sounds ridiculous, but this video of a horse soothing a baby makes us think that these massive mammals are definitely onto something.

The moment happened at a stable in Nottingham. According to Laughing Squid, the horse — named Red — was the only thing that was able to calm eight-month-old Ruby. Ruby’s mom, Stacey Storer, noted that the tot was inconsolable before Red came along.

What you’ll see in the video is a blooming friendship. Who knew that a horse would know exactly how to handle the stressful situation?

Ruby can’t keep her eyes off of Red. Red also seems to be pretty infatuated with the tot, as well. They say that horses can be calming, and this is just further proof. But, we figured that equine therapy probably dealt more with grooming, leading, and feeding — and not rocking, necessarily.

 We have a feeling that Storer and little Ruby will be visiting the stables a little more often after this. And, you never know — perhaps even at the tender age of less than a year, Ruby is communicating that she’d love to ride horses someday.
