This girl snapped a selfie while her sister was literally giving birth in the background

Even though selfies have taken over the world, there are a few situations in which they might be seen as a little inappropriate — such as, taking a selfie while your sister is in labor.  Kat Armendariz meant to take a photo to remember the wonderful moment when she became an aunt, but instead, managed to capture her sister in absolute misery.

But what makes it even better is that after she posted the photo onto Imgur,  she gave it a caption that, honestly, is probably reserved just for family. “SELFIE! While my sister is about to shove a baby out her vag!”

Now, there’s definitely something you should know — Armendariz definitely knows the pain of childbirth, as she, herself, is the mother of five kids. It just so happened that she wanted to take a picture of the occasion, and didn’t realize that a contraction was coming. And, that’s how things become accidentally hilarious.

If you’re still not convinced, Armendariz noted in an interview with Mashable that her sister, Kimberly, thought it was really funny.

"I told her I was going to do it, she just started the oxytocin and the labor pains began almost instantly," Armendariz said. "She started to feel it and right when she was like, 'Oh my god I can't take this,' I took the photo."

Armendariz also wants people to know that the photo isn’t staged — it’s a real response to labor pains.

The good news is that Kimberly successfully gave birth, and now has this incredibly funny photo to remember the event — both the good parts and the bad. We wish her entire family the best!
