This two-year-old belting out Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” is all of us

You hear it once, you can’t stop singing it all day. We know. We’ve been there. And so has this two-year old.

Dolly Parton’s Jolene is not only one of the most addicting songs of all time, it is also, critically speaking, one of the best songs of all time. Maybe THE best. Parton’s talent as a lyricist is otherworldly, we’re talking Nobel Prize in Literature level.

Meanwhile, her ability to write melodies that encompass every human emotion rises to a messianic high.

This 2-year-old taps into Parton’s wellspring of life’s meaning, and can’t stop singing Jolene.

Sophia, from Lansing, Michigan, was captured on tape by her mother singing the 40-year-old song.

In the video, Brooke Kingsley sneaks up on her daughter repeating the adorably remixed lyrics, “Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Joleeeeene, please don’t take my man,” to herself while playing with a toy.

Since it was posted to Facebook in December, the clip has been viewed more than 6 million times, shared more than 112,000 times and liked more than 35,000 times.

Dolly Parton herself caught wind of Sophia’s rendition, and shared the video on Facebook, with a message of support.

WE WOULD DIE if Dolly said anything about us, ever.

Little Sophia is probably too little to understand the significance of having the one-and-only true Goddess of Country Music encourage you toward the Grand Ole Opry.

So, we faint for you, Sophia. One day, you will understand. In the meantime, keep singing.
