They’re making a “Clue” movie, which we didn’t even know we desperately wanted until just now!

Board games are kind of a childhood staple. Chutes & Ladders, Monopoly, Parcheesi…we’ve all spent a rainy summer’s day on the floor of the living room, duking it out over fake money and little plastic pieces (and let’s be real, sometimes it got majorly heated). And perhaps no board game captured our imaginations quite like the game of Clue — there was murder, mystery, and actual characters (MRS.PEACOCK4LIFE!). And it required actual deductive reasoning, so you could kind of say it was like a precursor to the current true crime craze.
Which is why we’re TOTALLY PSYCHED that a new Clue movie is officially in the works! That’s right! Professor Plum, Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlet, Mr. Green — the whole gang is back for a live action movie.
Movie buffs out there will already know that Clue has already been adapted to film once before in 1985 in the delightfully bizarre comedy of the same name. But a remake promises all new adventures for the unfortunate Mr. Body and guests.
Not much is known about the project, but it officially has landed with 20th Century Fox, and we’re officially excited!
Oh, and while we’re on the subject, does anyone else remember THESE Clue mystery books based on the game?! Anyone? Because um, they were amazing, and we’re going to start rereading them to prep for the movie STAT.
