This neglected Chicago basement cat is a whole new man after they shaved five pounds of gross, matted fur off him
Everyone needs a transformative haircut from time to time, but Sinbad was actually desperate for one. Sinbad was a cat living in a Chicago basement with an elderly owner who was unable to care for him properly. That is until the Anti-Cruelty Society received a tip and went to investigate. They found Sinbad hauling around a huge amount of matted fur, and shaved a whopping five pounds off him!
It’s safe to say you’ve never seen anything like this. With the appalling state that Sinbad was in, it’s amazing that he could move at all. Ready for the before and after?

Is that a miraculous transformation, or what?! The Anti-Cruelty Society’s PR Manager Colette Bradley commented on Sinbad’s situation, and it seems like things are looking up for this kitty.
"As soon as that hair started coming off and he could walk, he started rubbing up against the people in the room. He was so affectionate and was looking for love in return. We were all shocked by how friendly he was considering he had such limited human interaction in his life prior to being rescued."
And because the internet is the internet, Sinbad is now the proud recipient of his own Instagram account. He’s looking quite cute these days if you ask us!

Awwww this is warming our hearts. And although he has a long way to go, progress is definitely underway.
"At first, his back legs were atrophied and he was having a hard time walking around without falling, but within a few days he had built up the muscles in his legs and was able to jump up on furniture," said Bradley.

Sending all the love to little Sinbad! We hope 2017 continues to bring lots of miracles his way, because every pet deserves the best chance in life.
