These photos of dogs catching treats in the air are the weirdest thing ever
Simply observing dogs engage in routine canine activities like tail-and-ball-chasing or sleeping with their legs splayed out can make for some weirdly hilarious moments. But um, this group of dogs that were photographed catching treats in the air is on some next-level strangeness. Dogs losing their minds over treats sounds like an ordinary pooch adventure, but NOPE, it absolutely isn’t because these images captured by German journalist/photographer Christian Vieler are extraordinarily strange. We’re all about the artwork, but it almost feels uncomfortable laughing at these dogs when they’re all wide-eyed, desperate and SO DAMNED AWKWARD.
In an interview with Bored Panda, Vieler described his photo-taking process as an attempt to capture “that specific moment when the dog is looking as cute or funny as they can be.” He added, “That cannot be seen without the power of freezing motion – dog’s faces with magnificent lineaments, telling us stories of panic, desire and joy.”
Well, mission accomplished because look at these dogs. Secondhand embarrassment, much?
It almost looked like this one fella wasn’t taking the bait but then he said eff it:
OK, so these are hilarious, but can you imagine how you would look if someone snapped a photo of you just as another individual entered the room with a big ol’ bowl of that mouthwatering food you’ve been craving. Odds are it wouldn’t be a pretty picture, but hey, at least the dogs got the treats, right?
In the end, art is supposed to inspire feelings, but we had no idea these dog pics would leave us feeling so conflicted.
