These new bed sheets are infused with coffee, and here’s what that means

Coffee has been proven to be beneficial in many ways. But did you know that it could also help you sleep? A company called Ettitude has created bed sheets infused with coffee, and they think that the added grounds will not only eliminate odors, but help less moisture soak through. That means you won’t have to wash them as much as you would a typical sheet. And uh, let’s face it. You don’t wash them as much as you should anyway, so these will make you feel a bit less guilty.

The company is currently campaigning on IndieGoGo, and has already made their goal.

On the campaign page, Ettitude made the point that most of coffee is actually wasted in the coffee grounds. The sheets actually recycle these grounds by turning them into yarn that can be used for bedding. Honestly, we didn’t even know that was possible.

Sadly, the sheets themselves don’t smell like coffee. But that’s probably for the best.

You might not know this, but according to Scientists at The City College of New York, the grounds serve quite well as a deodorizer. In fact, those scientists figured out that coffee could sop up the chemicals that make raw sewage smell so terrible. Since your sheets will never get to that level (we hope) just imagine how well it’ll help you out, especially in the summertime.

According to Ettitude, the grounds are transformed due to S.Cafe® technology. And while the yarn has been used previously in athetic wear, they’re the first company to try and use it for bedding. So really, they’re pioneers.

Not only can we not wait for these sheets to be available, but we’ll definitely be looking at our morning coffee a bit differently now.
