There’s a brand new David Bowie EP out to celebrate the singer’s birthday
To celebrate what would have been his 70th birthday, a new EP of unreleased David Bowie music has been released to mark the occasion.
Tomorrow (January 10th) will signal that it’s been one year since David Bowie tragically passed away. The singer’s partner, Iman, shared a tribute to her late-husband on Instagram over the weekend, giving us a glimpse into their lives, while celebrating Bowie’s legacy. The model had previously spoken to Good Morning America in September last year, her first proper public appearance since Bowie’s death, in which she said that she’d found the last 12 months “tough.”
However, now a new 4-track EP has been released to commemorate Bowie’s 70th birthday.

The collection, titled No Plan, features the track “Lazarus,” taken from the singer’s last full length album Blackstar, which was released last year. However, the EP also holds some of Bowie’s last recorded tracks, most of which are thought to have been written and recorded during the sessions for Blackstar.

According to The Guardian, the new material was recorded for the musical Lazarus, which opened late last year in New York and is based on Bowie’s 1976 film The Man Who Fell To Earth. The musical, which was co-written with Irish playwright Enda Walsh and directed by Belgian director Ivo van Hove, starred Dexter and Six Feet Under actor Michael C Hall.
The three new tracks, “No Plan,” “Killing A Little Time,” and “When I Met You” had previously appeared on the 2CD/3LP Lazarus Cast Album, but have now been made available to stream online.

What’s more, there’s also a new video for the track “No Plan,” too.
The clip was directed by Tom Hingston, and features the lyrics to the eerie and jazz-infused track being displayed on televisions while a crowd gather around enthralled.

Meanwhile, stars and fellow musicians gathered in London last night (January 8th) for a charity concert in Bowie’s honor, including Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, and indie-pop singer La Roux.
