There might actually be a recount of the votes in three major swing states thanks to Jill Stein

Green Party Presidential candidate Jill Stein started a fundraiser Wednesday to cover the costs of vote recounts in three states: Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. These are three battleground states that saw alleged “voting anomalies” and where Donald Trump unexpectedly won.

With a huge wave of support, she met her “Election Integrity” fundraising goal in less than 24 hours.

Jill Stein now says that 2.5 million will go towards the Wisconsin recount, while she increased the overall fundraising goal to $4,500,000 to put toward the PA and MI recounts.

“These recounts are part of an election integrity movement to attempt to shine a light on just how untrustworthy the U.S. election system is,” Stein’s website says.

“All money raised goes toward recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. We hope to do recounts in all three states. If we only raise sufficient money for two, we will demand recounts in two states. If we only raise enough money for one, we will demand a recount in one state.”

Stein is careful to temper expectations of voters distraught by a Trump presidency, stating that they cannot guarantee a recount will happen in any of these states. “We can only pledge we will demand recounts in those states,” she clarifies.

With a recount comes the small chance that those states could flip to Clinton with enough votes. If Clinton had won all three states by obtaining the necessary electoral votes, she would have overcome Trump in the election.
