The Women of ‘Orange Is the New Black’ Are My Spirit Animals

So much has already been written about how fabulous this show is (some of it even by me), but I’m going to add more to the overflowing pot.

When I thought about who I wanted to single out from the show, I simply couldn’t. The ensemble cast is flawless. Each character – main, supporting or almost background – has a compelling story to be told. So far, in season 1, we have only been privileged enough to hear a handful.

I love everything about this show: the cast, the writing, the ensemble feel, the fact that the majority of writers are women, that it was created by a woman, that it is diverse racially and emotionally, that it treats every single character with the same gravity…. Netflix, I cannot thank you enough. Jenji Kohan, you either! And Piper Kerman, thank you for sharing your story.

I am in love with this show. I am obsessed with this show. I cannot stop talking about this show, and hopefully you won’t be able to, either.
