The “Wet Hot American Summer” guys are making a sci-fi show, and we’ll make it our beeswax to be there

Any comedy geek worth their weight in geldings has seen/obsessed over the 2001 cult camp comedy Wet Hot American Summer (and probably its recent Netflix prequel series, The First Day of Camp). And now we can all rejoice yet again, because the team behind Wet Hot is working on a sci-fi show for TBS!

The show is tentatively called Moon Cruise, and it’s being described as a “sci-fi version of the Love Boat.“

Um, YES PLEASE!!!

The concept comes from the mind of Michael Ian Black (aka McKinley of Ben & McKinley’s epic romance), and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Black will also star in the series. He’ll also co-produce alongside Wet Hot gurus Michael Showalter (aka, the one and only Gerald ‘Coop’ Cooperberg), Jonathan Stern, and David Wain.

Okay, our favorite comedians in a space comedy? This is officially the best Monday morning ever. We don’t even care that details are currently super scarce.

And if you’re still hankering for more Wet Hot-related antics here on earth, worry not: After the success of 2015’s Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, Netflix has officially greenlit a sequel version of the concept that takes place 10 years later (aptly titled, Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later). Finally, after all this time, we’ll get to see what all our favorite characters eventually blossomed into. And they’ll all be in their mid-to-late 20s by then, so we know they’re definitely going to be on time (shameless inside joke from the original alert. Sorry not sorry!).

We’re genuinely stoked for the new comedic vision that will be Moon Cruise and are so glad our favorite comedy minds are back at it again. CAMP FIREWOOD 4EVA!
