The OG “Black Mirror” is getting the reboot treatment

Halloween is (sadly) over, but we have some delightfully chilling news: The Twilight Zone is getting rebooted! And we can’t wait to enter this new dimension, one that’s as “vast as space and as timeless as infinity,” and so on and so on…you see what we’re getting at.

The horror-mystery anthology series was a 1960s staple, and continues to be a cult favorite.

Created and hosted by Rod Serling, The Twilight Zone ran for five seasons on CBS from 1959-1964 and tackled all things sci-fi — and often ended with a twist. So yeah, it’s basically the OG Black Mirror.

The reboot is heading to CBS All Access, which recently caught a lot of attention with Star Trek: Discovery. Right now, it’s unknown if we’re looking at a straight-to-series order or if the show is in development, but the news is exciting nonetheless!

Especially because The Twilight Zone reboot might be coming from horror aficionado and Get Out writer-director Jordan Peele!

And Marco Ramirez (The Defenders, Daredevil) might write! We’re waiting for details and confirmation on both, so fingers crossed. But we do know that CBS Television Studios kept the rights to the show everyone loves to watch marathons of around the holidays (that can’t be just us, right?), so it’ll executive produce.

The Twilight Zone has been rebooted a few times before — and honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if this wasn’t the last time. Like, this is a classic. In the meantime, though, we’re looking forward to this latest iteration, because we could use more material for those holiday marathons.
