The trailer for one of Anton Yelchin’s final movies was just released, and it makes us miss him so much more

Before his unfortunate and untimely passing, actor Anton Yelchin had completed a bunch of movies. The actor, most famous for playing Star Trek‘s Pavel Chekov, had a growing career ahead of him. In fact, he was so iconic that director J.J. Abrams announced that Yelchin’s role as Chekov wouldn’t be recast. Instead, he’d be retired in future films.

One of the last films that Yelchin completed is called We Don’t Belong Here. Backed by a cast that also includes Catherine Keener, Molly Shannon, Riley Keough, and Maya Rudolph, the drama definitely seems like a strong contender. While it’s set to be released on April 4th, the trailer just debuted a few days ago.

Honestly? It’s making us miss Yelchin even more. We didn’t even think that was possible.

The plot of the film circles around a dysfunctional family. And since that’s a topic that often makes for incredible films, we definitely can’t wait — as sad as we know this film will make us.

It’s unclear as to whether or not this film will be released before or after a thriller film that he made called Thoroughbred, a Park Chan-wook film that debuted at Sundance. It’s definitely interesting that these two films, while different in plot, seem to have an intriguing eeriness about them.

As you know, Yelchin passed away in an accident on June 19th of last year. His car had rolled down his steep driveway, pinning him down in the process. His official cause of death was listed as blunt traumatic asphyxia. Yelchin was only 27.

We know that Yelchin’s family and friends were definitely proud of his career, and we’re so glad that we can still remember him in new ways moving forward.
