Here are The Simpsons like you’ve never seen them before
Have you ever thought, hmm, Krusty the Clown and The Joker would make a really great team? Or, what would happen if Bart and Gandalf teamed up? Wonder no longer, because LEGO Dimensions, the newest video game from the toy-company-turned-game-inventor, is making it possible.
The game is set to cover a bunch of LEGO franchises, like The Simpsons, Ghostbusters and Batman. All the characters are thrown together in a virtual world, with The Lord of Business and The Joker invading Springfield as a part of Lord Vortech’s “legion of villains.”
Here’s the awesome part: all characters and extras from expansion packs can be played in any level with any other characters and gadgets. Essentially, it’s a LEGO franchise free-for-all. If you buy The Simpsons‘ expansion packs, you’re also given some awesome perks. The Simpsons Level Pack gives you a little Homer figure, and The Simpsons Fun Packs gets you a Bart or a Krusty The Clown.
And that’s all before you’ve even popped in the game, which looks awesome, beeteedubs. Just take a peek at some of the screenshots of Lego-ized Simpsons that are emerging online:
Undoubtedly, you now want to rush to your nearest store to get your hands on the game, but slow down. It won’t be available until September 27 (d’Oh!) on PlayStation 3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Until then, you can take a scroll through this gallery of photos and get amped for the awesome car chases and robot-riding that awaits.
