The Red Hot Chili Peppers went shirtless on “Carpool Karaoke,” because rock ‘n’ roll
Meeting your heroes is always an incredible moment, but wrestling with them? That sounds too good to be true. All that and more really happened Monday night when James Corden had one of his favorite bands, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, on Carpool Karaoke. They sang, they wrestled, they took their shirts off — it was pretty much the best thing ever.
While they weren’t too much help giving James directions to get to work, they did provide some amazing entertainment during the crazy traffic. The group sang along to some of their greatest hits while reminiscing about their glory days back when they formed in 1983, including the times when they would wrestle on tour.
“I love a good man-wrestle,” James said, which turned out to be a mistake. Things escalated, and before they knew it, they were wrestling on a stranger’s lawn.
But if you thought that was as weird as things were going to get, you’d be mistaken. During a conversation about how some of the band rarely wore their shirts, James, Anthony Kiedis, and Flea began taking off their own until over half the car was cruising around LA totally shirtless.
“I always knew that this would be a fun part of my life, to be in a car with you,” James said as they approached the end of their drive. “But I never expected it to be as much fun as it has been.”
We’re sure the feeling’s mutual — how can you not have a blast when you’re carpooling with James Corden? It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for both of them, and you can watch the full segment below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
