The “Pretty Little Liars” leads get matching tattoos, prove they’re #friendshipgoals
We still have a summer’s worth of Pretty Little Liars episodes to look forward to, but we’re already crying over the fact that the series just wrapped filming. It certainly doesn’t help that the show’s cast has been churning out emotional Instagram tributes for the past few days — and just when we thought we couldn’t possibly feel any more nostalgic, PLL‘s leading ladies decided to get commemorative tattoos and send us back into fits of ugly tears.
Shay Mitchell, Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Janel Parrish and Sasha Pieterse shared sneak peeks at their new matching tattoos and it is so, so perfect. Each girl got her character’s first initial inked on her “shh finger” (you know, the finger she uses to make the “shh” sign in the credits).
On top of that, each girl is wearing what appears to be a Cartier Juste Un Clou ring, a gift from the show’s creator, I. Marlene King.
It’s such a perfect, personal way to pay tribute to a show that undoubtedly changed the lives of everyone involved.
PLL wasn’t just our obsession because of all its twists and turns — it held our attention through the years because when you got right down to it, it was a story of female friendship. Aria, Spencer, Hannah, Emily and even Mona and Alison had each other’s backs through thick and thin, and we loved the stellar example the show put forth. The best part? The show’s cast is obviously just as close IRL. In a world of frenemies and competition, both the characters we fell in love with and the actresses who played them are such a shining example of what it really means to be a friend.
