If you don’t know what a cut crease is, you’ll know it when you see it. The bold and geometric look is this year’s number one eye makeup trend on Pinterest. The style takes its inspiration from the past, but is so right now. You’ve seen it on songstresses Adele, Lana Del Rey, and Beyoncé, but they’re paying tribute to 1960s icons Twiggy, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, and Audrey Hepburn. (Technically this look is much older — just look at any ancient Egyptian painting!)

It might seem challenging to execute, but luckily there are cut crease tutorials for every eye color and shape. You can make a cut crease with glitter, and if you need a little help, you can try the spoon hack. We’re sure the cut crease trend with definitely be going strong into 2017.
