That Iconic Royal Wedding Dress Steals ‘The Crown’ Season 4 Trailer

We finally have a premiere date!

We’re living in a time of uncertainty in a whole lot of ways, and that includes entertainment. While a lot of TV seasons will certainly be delayed thanks to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, fans of one Netflix series just got a very welcome update. The Crown Season 4 got a premiere date, and a new trailer was released, and that trailer features a cast member we’ve all been waiting for: Princess Diana’s wedding dress.

On Thursday, Netflix announced that the fourth season of The Crown will premiere on Sunday, November 15th.

The streaming service also released a 30-second trailer that shows some of the new faces we’ll be seeing this season. Well, actually, it barely shows their faces. Instead, we get more of a look at their memorable hairstyles.

Gillian Anderson is making her debut this season as prime minister Margaret Thatcher, and Emma Corrin will star as Princess Diana. The trailer is focused only on three characters—Thatcher, Diana, and Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman)—which should make for an intriguing women-centric season. (We’ve seen a lot of Prince Phillip, you guys. Enough.)

We already knew that this season would feature the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana because Season 3 was all about the end of Charles’ relationship with Camilla Shand and his family wanting him to be with someone else. Now, with the trailer, we see that Diana and her entry into the royal family will be a big part of Season 4. The final shot of her in her very big wedding gown is haunting as it shows her walking into her new life.

It won’t be long now until we get to see how The Crown portrays Diana and Charles’ complicated relationship. And, more importantly, until we get to see more recreations of Diana’s iconic looks.
