Balencyoga wants you to get cheeky with their Balenciaga-inspired leggings
If we wanted to, we could write a love song to leggings. Who is always there for long plane rides, workouts, or the days you want to dress like you’re working out but with no real plans to do so? Whether you plan to wear ’em out, work ’em out, or try to get away with wearing ’em to work, yoga pants are the gift that keeps on giving.
So we were kind of excited to hear about Balencyoga, a self-proclaimed “irony” brand that’s giving leggings, tees, and dad hats a playful upgrade.
The Balencyoga leggings are $90, making them the priciest item offered at the Balencyoga web store. Dad hats are $45, tanks are $35, tees range from $40 to $45, and there’s a pretty cool beach towel for $75.
Unlike other parody brands, Balencyoga seems like a more lighthearted and humorous response to luxury fashion. Everything on the site is wearable without looking like knockoffs. And, might we add that we don’t need an excuse to add more athleisure to our closets.
We’re curious to see future releases from Balencyoga. We’ve got our fingers crossed for shorts, a sports bra, and yoga mats. How cute would that be?
A pair of actual Balenciaga leggings would run you about $800, by the way. Can we all just have a giggle at the idea of working out in $800 stretchy pants? Here’s to hoping Balenciaga’s creative director, Demna Gvasalia, can take a joke.
