“The Bold Type” just got renewed for *two* more seasons, because apparently everyone is as obsessed as we are

This just in: Freeform dramedy The Bold Type has been renewed for not one but *TWO* more seasons and OH MY SCARLET WE ARE SO EXCITED.

We repeat: The Bold Type has been renewed for Seasons 2 and 3, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Each will run for 10 episodes each — like its premiere season.

Not only that, but The Bold Type just landed a new showrunner in Amanda Lasher — whose credits include Gossip Girl, Riverdale, and Sweet/Vicious. Series creator Sarah Watson (Parenthood) is leaving Freeform’s summer hit due to creative differences.

The Bold Type centers on the professional and personal lives of three young women.

Those characters being Jane (Katie Stevens), Kat (Aisha Dee), and Sutton (Meghann Fahy), who work for a women’s magazine called Scarlet. It’s loosely based on the life of Hearst Magazines chief content officer Joanna Coles, who was the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan.

"When we launched The Bold Type, we had no idea just how strongly it would resonate with young adult viewers who quickly saw their world of intense friendships, relationships, career ambitions, social media habits, and crazy sex and love lives reflected back at them, Coles explained in a statement.

“The positive response has been overwhelming — we couldn’t ask for better partners in Freeform and Universal TV and look forward to pushing the envelope further in Season 2 with the phenomenal women and men of Scarlet.”

The Bold Type fearlessly addressed women’s issues (and a whole lot more) in its first season, and told many stories of female empowerment. So needless to say, we cant wait for the show to return.
