Kaley Cuoco posted the most bittersweet message about the end of Big Bang: “I’m drowning in tears”

Over the course of 11 seasons, The Big Bang Theory has been one of the most popular sitcoms on TV. Viewers tuning in each week have learned the “Soft Kitty” song, watched Sheldon and Amy’s relationship blossom, and even witnessed the show tackle unexpected topics, like Bernadette’s feelings about pregnancy. And now, The Big Bang Theory is officially coming to an end.

According to Entertainment WeeklyWarner Bros. announced today, August 22nd, that Season 12 of The Big Bang Theory will be the show’s last. That means that the CBS comedy will air its final episode in 2019. In a joint statement to Entertainment Weekly, Warner Bros., CBS, and Chuck Lorre Productions promised an “epic, creative close” to the series.

Reportedly, the series could have gone on an additional two seasons, but Jim Parsons, aka Sheldon, was ready to leave and didn’t renew his contract. However, that doesn’t mean that Parsons isn’t sad about the show ending. He shared his bittersweet feelings in an August 23rd Instagram post (scroll to the right for his full statement).
