These cities see the highest increases of Tinder Matches on Thanksgiving, so let’s roll the dice!

For those of us who find ourselves single during the holidays, Tinder has really been a problem solver. Swiping during the holidays has become almost a requisite coping strategy, and now there is hard and fast data to tell us the best cities to swipe in to really up our Thanksgiving Tinder matches. Well thank goodness, because we definitely can’t kick our Tinder addiction. So many of us will find ourselves traveling this week, so this is handy info to know if any of our hometowns make the list.

Tinder Sociologist Dr. Jess Carbino reminds swipers:

"People typically tend to be attracted to those with a similar demographic background - from age, occupation, education and more. Individuals who grow up in the same areas are more likely to have shared experiences, making home a great place for singles with similar values to connect."

That means you’re more likely to get lucky with your Tinder matches the closer you get to your own home city.

Lucky for us Tinder use actually increases during the Thanksgiving weekend.  There’s actual data to prove why you should be swiping as we speak.

In 2015, there were more than 2.3 million swipes during the Thanksgiving holidays, proving that you can still find a little love in your hometown. Of the “local swipes,” more than 17 million matches were made. That’s a 23% (!!!)  increase compared to non-holiday weekends.
