Here’s your DIY framed Thanksgiving motto
Surprise! Thanksgiving is this Thursday! And whether you’re celebrating with family or friends, you’ll want to make the day special. For me, that means adding lots of little handmade touches to my holiday spread. I’m nearly set with my pumpkin centerpiece and tulle wreath—but I couldn’t resist making one more decoration!
This DIY helps you make a funny, framed motto for your table to celebrate the guest of honor: the turkey. It’s super easy to put together, too, making it the perfect thing to do while you’re watching the parade!
Materials:
- 6 inch by 8 inch frame
- Orange felt
- Yellow felt
- Orange thread
- Basic sewing needle
- Straight pins
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
- Ballpoint pen
Craft away: Trim the yellow felt down to fit in the frame.
Draw a “g,” an “o,” a “b,” an “l” and an “e” onto the orange felt. Make the letters 1 1/2 inches tall. Cut out the letters, and trace them to make enough letters to spell out “gobble gobble.”
Pin the letters to the yellow felt.
Cut a few feet of thread and fold it in half, then thread the needle and tie a knot.
Sew the letters to the yellow felt. You can simple attach them in the middle as shown, or stitch all the way around each letter for an appliqué effect.
Slip the felt into the frame, and display your adorbs decoration during your Thanksgiving feast!
