Teyana Taylor Gave Birth to Her Second Child at Home—See the First Pics
'The Hunger Games' fans will love her name.
Singer Teyana Taylor and her husband Iman Shumpert welcomed a daughter into the family over Labor Day weekend. Both Taylor and Shumpert shared a video of their brand new baby and a snippet of her incredible birth story.
In the post, they not only revealed their baby girl’s name, but they kickstarted her very own Instagram account at less than 48 hours old. And the name? Maybe the couple is a fan of The Hunger Games.
We love you Rue, welcome baby girl @babyruerose 😢😍🌹❤️, Taylor captioned a September 7th Instagram post.
Taylor also included the reposted caption from Shumpert’s Instagram post, also uploaded September 7th. “At 3:28 am on Sept 6th 2020 Rue Rose ? decided that the baby shower thrown for her and mommy was too lit,” Shumpert wrote. “She didn’t make the party but she managed to make the next day her birthdate!!!”
Shumpert also joked in his caption that he and Taylor always go house hunting with “a bathroom with great energy.” in mind, “but not in a million years would you be able to tell me we’d deliver both of our daughters in a bathroom without the assistance of a hospital!”
Rue was ready to go whether Taylor was or not! Luckily, this had happened before, and Taylor and Shumpert knew exactly what to do.
“Our newest edition entered the world in the water and came out looking around and ready to explore! A healthy child. A little sister. Another daughter. Black love wins….again,” Shumpert wrote. “Welcome babygirl…we love you!”
Rue Rose is Taylor and Shumpert’s second child. The couple, who were married in 2016, share 4-year-old Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr., who goes by Junie. Junie is already the ambassador for her own clothing brand (JuJu Beez) and an upcoming haircare brand called Junie Juice Curls. She, too, has her own Instagram page with more than 500,000 followers.
