Tess Holliday has this message for anyone who didn’t like that she breastfed her son at the Women’s March
There was so much women power this weekend at the Women’s March which took place in so many cities across the country — and world. Many of our favorite celebrities were on hand, marching along and we were thrilled to see Tess Holilday and her family show up on photos of the LA march.
According to Cosmopolitan, the streets of Downtown LA had an estimated 750,000 people who were demonstrating at the Women’s March and Holliday was there with her husband, Nick, and her son, Bowie.
Not everyone was thrilled when photos of the body positive model showed up on social media. Not because of any message she was sharing, but because she was breastfeeding her son.
The gorgeous photo was captured by photographer Jessica Louise Thompson and both she and Holliday shared on their Instagram account. When we look at the photo we see a powerful woman who is giving us LIFE with her up-do messy bun and we can feel the power of the crowds behind her.
We’re big supporters of breastfeeding where and when you need to, so the cute baby in her arms is just bonus to our eyes.
It seems that whenever a celebrity posts a photo of them feeding their child, people come out with their opinions, telling the woman to cover up, and we’re shocked and saddened to hear people felt that way for this photo, at a woman’s march.
However, leave it to Holliday to have the best response to those who told her to cover up and she edited her social share to address those who were coming at her.
“Edited to add: Those saying that I should "cover up" You mean when I'm breastfeeding MY baby who was a) hungry & b) screaming because he was overly tired & the crowd overloaded his senses & it was the only way to comfort him?!, she writes. “I will feed my child anywhere I want. Also CA state law protects me to do so. Keep your uneducated opinions off my body.
All the YESSS, girl!
