The teleprompter failed while Kristen Bell was presenting a major award at the People’s Choice Awards, and she handled it like a CHAMP

Life is all too often about rolling with the punches. And it just so happens that one of our fave actresses recently experienced what could have been a major meltdown moment, but she took it in stride like a seasoned pro.

That’s right, Kristen Bell recovered after a teleprompter fail at the People’s Choice Awards this week.

She was on stage to present a special Favorite Humanitarian award to Tyler Perry, and during her speech about his many achievements, like rebuilding homes, erecting churches, and helping schools, the teleprompter just stopped working (how rude!). Bell barely flinched though; she simply let out a quiet squeal and acknowledged that it had failed, before finishing the introduction on her own.

"Oops, the teleprompter has gone out! But I suppose I can finish. With this guardian angel by our side, I think we’re all incredibly grateful to have someone like him that can teach us to grow and give back as the example."

via giphyAfter a video segment, Bell returned to the mic to apologize for using a teleprompter in the first place. “I feel like just a moment ago I really pulled the curtain and showed some vulnerability. I was, in fact, using a teleprompter, and I’m embarrassed that I didn’t memorize it.” She went on to admit that there were way too many [good deeds] to memorize, “I had to use the prompter, so I hope you’ll cut me some slack.”

We TOTALLY understand, and don’t fault Bell for using a teleprompter at all. In fact, the way she handled the technical glitch is extremely impressive, and we hope we’d do the same in her shoes.

Here’s a snippet from the incident (after she had recovered from the glitch), followed by an AMAZING acceptance speech from Tyler Perry:

We think this adequately encapsulates how we feel about this:[/subheader]

You rock our world, girl! Incidentally, Bell’s profile description on Twitter now reads, “I don’t need a teleprompter. I got this.”
