A few months ago, our world was rocked when Zayn Malik announced that he was leaving One Direction. This news sent us into the typical stages of grief, like utter sadness, denial, watching This Is Us on repeat for days, and finally, acceptance. Zayn, you do you, and we’ll support you no matter what.

However, with 1D now down one member, is there a chance Niall Horan, Liam Payn, Louis Tomlinson, or Harry Styles could follow along and leave, too? Rumors have been swirling for a while that Harry will be the next one to depart the group, and now, he’s finally speaking out and setting the record straight.

Harry called into On Air with Ryan Seacrest the other day to talk about all things 1D. Seacrest brought up the idea that Harry could soon find himself going solo, and while he didn’t give a real firm yes or no, he put our 1D feels at ease for the moment.

When discussing the projects he’s working on right now — from 1D touring, to a new 1D album, to writing songs for other artists — Harry explained that, “I think when you have so many goals that you feel like you have yet to achieve, it’s hard to kind of see past those. It’s important to kind of focus on what’s going on and don’t kind of lose track.” In short, he’s so busy with everything else, there’s no time to even think about breaking away from 1D. Phew, that was close.

A solo career for Harry could happen further on down the road, maybe. But for now, he continues that, “I don’t think [Liam, Niall, Louis and I are] thinking much past [right now]. I think we’re just having a lot of fun and we’re working hard and we’re having a good time.”

The guys are preparing to start touring the United States in July, and Harry even teased that we might hear some new 1D songs at their On The Road Again concerts. “We’ll definitely be dropping some of the new stuff at times,” he explained, “As time goes on, there will be a couple things added to the show.” AMAZING. We’ll see all four of you there!
