This Sunday (March 8) is International Women’s Day, and to honor this, YouTube has launched an inspirational project that encourages teenage women to recognize their strengths, embrace their passions and imperfections, and realize that when the going gets tough, it doesn’t mean it’s going to last forever. The #DearMe campaign stars strong women like Grace Helbig, Michelle Phan, Felicia Day, Hannah Hart, Lindsey Stirling, IISuperWomanII, and Bunny Meyers, who share messages they wish they could send their younger selves.

This empowering campaign is using social media in the most awesome of ways, and we love the message it’s sending to girls who feel left out, uncomfortable in their bodies, uncool, or just straight-up confused (AKA, how everyone feels as a teen). It’s normal to feel lost and worried about the future (which always seems foreboding no matter what). It’s normal to want other girls to like you, and for the humans you’re crushing on to think you’re smart and pretty and funny. It’s normal to hate your skin. It’s normal to have no idea what you want to be when you grow up. It’s normal to fear failure and its’ normal to fear fear. The #DearMe campaigns addresses all of that head-on and reminds girls that it’s okay to feel their feelings.

So here are some ladies who can totally relate and tell you that everything will be okay. You will make mistakes, but you will learn from them! The most important thing of all is to be yourself and stay true to yourself, to let no one steal your magic, because that magic is yours and no one else’s.
