AvenGerbils is the funniest 'Avengers' spoof yet
It feels like we’ve been waiting for The Avengers: Age of Ultron since forever, and now that the film’s finally about to come out, we’re buzzing with fangirl excitement. Yeah, we’ve had new Thor and Iron Man and Captain America movies to keep us sated in between installments of Joss Whedon’s contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but there is nothing better than watching our favorite supes squad in action.
Scratch that — there’s almost nothing better, because everything can be improved with adorable animals. Enter: The AvenGerbils. Jimmy Kimmel “found” a “new” G-rated trailer for Age of Ultron featuring gerbils in the lead roles, and it’s both hilarious (gerbil Iron Man’s waistband!) and actually kind of creepy (gerbil Ultron’s eyes…). Above all, it’s really, really well-made, a testament both to Kimmel’s special effects teams and the “acting expertise” of these cute critters.
This just has us thinking: What other films would be improved with the addition of gerbils? The DiGerbil trilogy? MockingGerbil Part II? John Gerbil’s Paper Towns? (Now we’re stretching.) Regardless, our love of cute animal movie spoofs is stronger than ever.
Check out The AvenGerbils: Hamster of Thor below (get it?, like Hammer of Thor but… we’ll stop), and try not to go “Awww,” even to gerbil Ultron. And of course, don’t forget to check out the other, human-starring Avengers film, in theaters on May 1.
